Waterspout

Here’s some old photos I took when I was a teenager. I had a disposable panoramic camera, and I was somewhere between Florida and the Bahamas. I was fascinated by the whirlpool that was forming off the side of the ship. I tried to point it out to my dad, but he didn’t look down. He looked up! And he was right to do so. A waterspout was coming right down, almost on our heads. I learned later that the ship had been pushed off course because of that thing. I had no idea how dangerous that thing really was. I turned my panoramic camera sideways and got these pictures of it all the way from sea to sky!
